ATTENTION: NEW PITCHING RULES FOR 2024
In an attempt to protect kids arms as much as possible, new rules for pitching are being introduced this year. They are more restrictive, get used to them, know them, and follow them.
For 2024 we are introducing more limited innings per day, per two days, and also starting mandatory rest after two consecutive days of pitching, very similar to Legion and High School except instead of pitch count it will be by innings.
For 14U Pony ball, the rules are as follows:
No more than 5 innings in a single game or 7 innings in 2 days. If the pitchers pitches two consecutive days in a row, a mandatory day of rest is required regardless of innings pitched (if he is under the 7 you still have to manage appearances) If you have a double header and a pitcher pitches in both games, that is 2 appearances and they will need a day of rest.
For 12U PeeWee and 10U Wee Wee ball, the rules are as follows:
No more than 4 innings in a single game or 6 innings in 2 days. If the pitchers pitches two consecutive days in a row, a mandatory day of rest is required regardless of innings pitched (if he is under the 6 you still have to manage appearances) If you have a double header and a pitcher pitches in both games, that is 2 appearances and they will need a day of rest.
The league has adapted bat regulations for the 10U, 12U, and 14U going forward.
10U and 12U age groups are USA bats only. 14U is allowed to swing a BBCOR or USA Bat.
Adherence to the USA bat rule for these age groups is mandatory. Going forward, if a player is found to be using a bat that is not either USA or BBCOR, they will immediately be called out. Do not wait for the at bat to finish, as anything that happens prior to the bat being recognized will stand. For example, if it is found on the third pitch of the at bat and on the first two pitches runners advanced or scored, they will stand. It will only be an out on the pitch it is identified on and anything that occurred on that pitch will be nullified. The goal l of this rule is to get coaches and players to adhere to the new requirement. Please make every effort as coaches and town heads to follow the rule.
2024 Baseball Season begins on Thursday, May 2nd for the 12U and 14U and Saturday May 4th for the 8U and 10U.
8U Plays Monday nights at 6 and Saturday mornings at 9AM. 10U normally is the game following 8U both days (some exceptions due to number of teams). If there is no 8U game and there is a 10U game, the normal start time would be 10 on Saturday or 7 on Monday - but please work together to make sure both coaches are aware and know what is going on. There are instances where 2 10U teams play in a town with no 8U games and the host may schedule them back to back.
12U plays Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6. 14U normally is the game following 12U. If there is no 12U game and there is a 14U game, the normal start time would be 7 - but please work together to make sure both coaches are aware and know what is going on.
